NEVER BE MOVED!

Daily Diary - April 26th, 2016

Never Be Moved!

Thank God for His grace and the new covenant that He brought to us through Christ Jesus our savior.  This grace abounds in our lives and comes from God who “loves” us.  He desires to see His children walk uprightly and work righteousness.  As His children we can dwell in His Holy place in the here and now.

He gives us instruction in this following Old Testament Psalm as a way to “Never Be Moved” from His holy hill.

Psalm 15 Lord, who may abide in Your tabernacle?
Who may dwell in Your holy hill?

He who walks uprightly,
    And works righteousness,
    And speaks the truth in his heart;
He who does not backbite with his tongue,
    Nor does evil to his neighbor,
    Nor does he take up a reproach against his friend;
In whose eyes a vile person is despised,
    But he honors those who fear the Lord;
He who swears to his own hurt and does not change;
He who does not put out his money at usury,
    Nor does he take a bribe against the innocent.

He who does these things shall never be moved.

This scripture declares that; “we shall never be moved by following this instruction”.

The New Testament didn’t change the outcome of God’s desire of how we should walk.  Christ Jesus came to bring us salvation from our “Sin”.  We still have God’s Word of how to dwell in His holy hill.

Question:  Do you work “Righteousness” in your daily life?

Definition of Righteousness in the Bible

Righteousness is the state of moral perfection required by God to enter heaven.

However, the Bible clearly states that human beings cannot achieve righteousness through their own efforts: "Therefore no one will be declared righteous in God's sight by the works of the law; rather, through the law we become conscious of our sin."

Romans 3:20 Therefore by the deeds of the law no flesh will be justified in His sight, for by the law is the knowledge of sin.

The law, or the Ten Commandments, shows us how far we fall short of God's standards. The only solution to that dilemma is God's plan of salvation.

We need to ask ourselves how many of these Old Testament commands do we actually follow on a daily basis.  The answer is probably “Not Many”.

When we become aware of our failure we begin to rely on Jesus as our savior.  This is not a “license to sin.”

Psalm 15 says we can never be moved from His Holy hill.  God established His Holy place for us, and His only Son Jesus Christ made the way for us.

My desire is to not me moved from His holy place.

Psalm 15 challenges us to become better. In fact we have instructions throughout the bible of how to live.  This is not an issue of “salvation”, because we cannot earn salvation.  It is the free gift of God.  This is a way of seeking God’s righteousness to establish a “Relationship” with Him.  This relationship is based on our willingness to identify our faults by recognition of the “Law” which points us toward our eternal salvation of Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior.   We must conclude that “WE” are not capable of fulfilling the law.   Only the Grace of God by His love through Christ Jesus can fulfill God’s plan for our lives.

Father God we desire to please you and walk in your Holy hill that we can never be moved from.  We thank you for sending your Son to bring us salvation when we fall short.  We are challenged today by your law to become more like you.  We will apply your good works and deeds to our lives because we desire a relationship with you, because you love us.  We rely on your salvation to pick us up when we fall short in Jesus name Amen!

Psalm 62:6 He only is my rock and my salvation; He is my defense; I shall not be moved.

Romans 8:38-39

For I am persuaded that neither death nor life, nor angels nor principalities nor powers, nor things present nor things to come,nor height nor depth, nor any other created thing, shall be able to separate us from the love of God which is in Christ Jesus our Lord.
