HEAVENLY INHERITANCE
A Heavenly Inheritance
We live in such a materialistic world that much of the focus is on our inheritance. Examples of which include: land, money, stock, homes and automobiles.
I believe we have learned to focus on material things so much that we discount the eternal inheritance that is available to us through Christ Jesus our Lord!
1 Peter 1:3-5 Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who according to His abundant mercy has begotten us again to a living hope through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead, 4 to an inheritance incorruptible and undefiled and that does not fade away, reserved in heaven for you, 5 who are kept by the power of God through faith for salvation ready to be revealed in the last time.
As our physical lives fade away we begin to realize that we have wasted so much time on the present that we often regret to invest in our everlasting home by salvation and spiritual promise.
Matthew 6:18-20 “Do not lay up for yourselves treasures on earth, where moth and rust destroy and where thieves break in and steal; but lay up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where neither moth nor rust destroys and where thieves do not break in and steal.
Matthew 6:21 For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also.
When we read Matthew 6:21 it should cause us to examine our heart. If we are tormented by the things of this world, and most people are, then we more than likely are laying up our treasure on worldly things. Although we are never completely free from temptation, where our hearts focus is will determine our peace, joy and response to the trials of life.
Matthew 13:44 “Again, the kingdom of heaven is like treasure hidden in a field, which a man found and hid; and for joy over it he goes and sells all that he has and buys that field.
Question: Where is your treasure today?
Father God, we thank you for your inheritance that awaits us in heaven. We choose today to lay up treasure where it is safe in your hands in Jesus Name! Amen

Romans 8:38-39
