FOCUSED AS A BEE!

Focused as a Bee!
We have all heard the term “Busy as a Bee”. Through observation I am going to introduce another gift of the Bumble.
When watering my garden I noticed the Bumble Bees that were moving diligently from flower to flower. It was not a random busyness that I saw, but rather intense focus upon their task at hand. It seemed nothing would distract them from “Their” job! Even when I began to spray water they quickly returned to task to accomplish their goal.
I was intrigued by their “Focus”. The revelation I gained from watching them has to do with people.
Question: How focused are we on a task? Also, how many things distract us from the important tasks?
Proverbs 4:26-27 Ponder the path of your feet, And let all your ways be established.
27 Do not turn to the right or the left; Remove your foot from evil.
First of all our priorities should be: Seeking God (Matthew 6:33), Being a husband or wife and also being a father or mother. When these 3 responsibilities are my focus, I have had success in work and other priorities.
When we become distracted by the world’s fleshly plans and desires we lose focus on the things that bring us joy, peace and ultimately success.
2 Chronicles 34:1-2 Josiah was eight years old when he became king, and he reigned thirty-one years in Jerusalem. 2 And he did what was right in the sight of the Lord, and walked in the ways of his father David; he did not turn aside to the right hand or to the left.
As a young boy I was convinced that the Bumble Bee must be the worst of all the stinging flying creatures. They were just bigger and scarier. Now I realize that at no point are they interested in stinging me. In fact I can barely distract them when I am in the garden, even when I try.
In this world we must learn to not be drawn away and distracted by the things that tempt us away from God’s plan.
"The Bees have a plan!"
Father God, we ask for the wisdom to “focus” on our tasks today and to not turn to the right or to the left, but to seek you first and allow you to guide us towards our destiny.
Hebrews 12:2 looking unto Jesus, the author and finisher of our faith, who for the joy that was set before Him endured the cross, despising the shame, and has sat down at the right hand of the throne of God.
Romans 8:38-39
For I am persuaded that neither death nor life, nor angels nor principalities nor powers, nor things present nor things to come, nor height nor depth, nor any other created thing, shall be able to separate us from the love of God which is in Christ Jesus our Lord.
