Memorial Day Hope!

Hope
As we remember those we have lost on Memorial Day I am reminded of a word in the bible that brings us comfort and peace. The word is hope.
Jeremiah 17:7 “Blessed is the man who trusts in the Lord, And whose hope is the Lord.
Webster’s Dictionary
hope |hōp|
noun
1 a feeling of expectation and desire for a certain thing to happen
We have the hope of eternal life in our Lord and savior Jesus Christ. It brings boldness to our faith of seeing our loved ones in our future in heaven. This eternal hope inside us, by the spirit of God, compels us to spread the Gospel to those who are lost, in hope that they will to share in the inheritance of our Lord.
1 Peter 1:3-5 Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who according to His abundant mercy has begotten us again to a living hope through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead, 4 to an inheritance incorruptible and undefiled and that does not fade away, reserved in heaven for you, 5 who are kept by the power of God through faith for salvation ready to be revealed in the last time.
We obtain this “Hope” by being saved by Grace through our faith. This faith gives us the hope of eternity with God.
Question: Is your hope in the World or in God today?
Ephesians 2:8-9 For by grace you have been saved through faith, and that not of yourselves; it is the gift of God, 9 not of works, lest anyone should boast.
Romans 8:24-26 For we were saved in this hope, but hope that is seen is not hope; for why does one still hope for what he sees?25 But if we hope for what we do not see, we eagerly wait for it with perseverance.
26 Likewise the Spirit also helps in our weaknesses. For we do not know what we should pray for as we ought, but the Spirit Himself makes intercession for uswith groanings which cannot be uttered.
Father God we have the hope of our future in You today in Jesus name. We ask that you strengthen us to run our race in righteousness until our reunion in heaven. Thank you for the hope of eternity in Jesus name! Amen
Romans 15:13 Now may the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace in believing, that you may abound in hope by the power of the Holy Spirit.
Romans 8:38-39
For I am persuaded that neither death nor life, nor angels nor principalities nor powers, nor things present nor things to come, nor height nor depth, nor any other created thing, shall be able to separate us from the love of God which is in Christ Jesus our Lord.
