IRON SHARPENS IRON

Daily Diary - October 18th, 2017

Iron Sharpens Iron

Prov. 27:17 – “Iron sharpeneth iron; so a man sharpeneth the countenance of his friend.”

To be able to grow in my personal walk with God I needed to change the environment around me.  I needed Godly relationships and a bible based church to help increase my knowledge of the Word.  I had to separate myself from the people that were walking in their flesh and pulling me into the same traps of the enemy.

Proverbs 1:7 The fear of the Lord is the beginning of knowledge, But fools despise wisdom and instruction.

Before accepting Jesus as savior I was the “King” of fools.  I have good friends that simply lack wisdom and instruction just as we all do, but those that choose to despise it cannot grow spiritually.

I needed new relationships because I was not spiritually grown up enough to be able to walk in the enemy’s camp without falling to the traps that were around me.

Question:  Are you mature enough spiritually to walk in the midst of temptation and stay clear from its desires?

I believe we can grow spiritually to fight larger and larger battles in the world, but as a young Christian the traps are difficult.

John 10:10 The thief does not come except to stealand to killand to destroy. I have come that they may have life, and that they may have it more abundantly.

Surround yourself with good things and separate out those things that hold you back from the wisdom and knowledge of God.

1 Timothy 5:23-25 The sins of some are obvious, reaching the place of judgment ahead of them; the sins of others trail behind them. 25 In the same way, good deeds are obvious, and even those that are not obvious cannot remain hidden forever.

This scripture points out that people are in different places spiritually.  I personally needed the people that God brought into my life that loved me right where I was at, and refrained from harsh judgment.  It was the love of God working on me personally that brought forth change.  They were people that stayed true to their faith and did not waiver in my presence.  They were strong in situations of temptation and I noticed!

Some how these Christian people in my life were passing the test that I wanted to pass also.  They spoke to me in love and it made me curious to want to know more about “Jesus”.  When I started to seek God for myself He started to move into my life in a powerful way.  It was not because of man’s conviction, but rather the Holy Spirit that had called me out.  I saw the power of God in my life and also the reflection of it in other people’s life.  The foundation was “Grace”.

2 Peter 3:17 Therefore, dear friends, since you have been forewarned, be on your guard so that you may not be carried away by the error of the lawless and fall from your secure position. 18 But grow in the grace and knowledge of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. To him be glory both now and forever! Amen.

Father God, we thank you for your grace today.  We seek your knowledge and wisdom as wise people and not as fools.  Grow us up so we can be an example of your love and grace to your people in Jesus name. Amen

Romans 8:38-39

For I am persuaded that neither death nor life, nor angels nor principalities nor powers, nor things present nor things to come, nor height nor depth, nor any other created thing, shall be able to separate us from the love of God which is in Christ Jesus our Lord.
