GODLY WISDOM

Daily Diary September 21st, 2018

Godly Wisdom

So many times we are content with staying in the same place and not growing in knowledge.  I have learned that we are designed to change and grow the way God intended. The Holy Spirit is available to guide us into all truth and wisdom.

James 1:5 If any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask of God, who gives to all liberally and without reproach, and it will be given to him.

Question:  Do you pray for wisdom?

So many times we think we “know it all”.  This is a typical selfish human action to qualify us.  We are satisfied with our level of knowledge and growth because we wouldn’t want anyone to say otherwise.

This is the exact opposite mindset of God’s children.  We are to grow in wisdom and transform to become more than what we were.

Proverbs 15:33 The fear of the Lord is the instruction of wisdom, And before honor is humility.

It is very important that we understand that humility comes before honor.

Have you ever thought you knew a lot about something and then realized that it appeared to be much more or different then your original thoughts?  Most of the time this is true.  As we grow older we begin to change how we think about certain things.  This is the knowledge of living life.  Hopefully our growth is based on the wisdom of God.

Psalm 111:10 The fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom; A good understanding have all those who do His commandments. His praise endures forever.

This scripture implies that if we do not fear the Lord we have not reached the beginning of wisdom.  This would mean we are basing our lives on our knowledge without wisdom.  This knowledge comes from the world.

Before I knew Jesus as savior I was truly lacking wisdom and relying on the world to provide my knowledge.  This was a limited knowledge based on selfish outcomes.  The wisdom of God will begin to transform our lives to become more like God.  This wisdom is available to everyone who believes.

Proverbs 1:7 The fear of the Lord is the beginning of knowledge, But fools despise wisdom and instruction.

The first thing that Carrie and I pray for each day is wisdom.  God will give it freely to those who ask.  If we have Godly wisdom our decisions have a foundation to live by that is better than the world has to offer.

Father God we pray today for your wisdom.  Let us know you and understand your word so we can become wise in all things and make a difference in a lost world in Jesus name. Amen

James 3:17 But the wisdom that is from above is first pure, then peaceable, gentle, willing to yield, full of mercy and good fruits, without partiality and without hypocrisy.

Romans 8:38-39

For I am persuaded that neither death nor life, nor angels nor principalities nor powers, nor things present nor things to come, nor height nor depth, nor any other created thing, shall be able to separate us from the love of God which is in Christ Jesus our Lord.
