Walking in God's plan for the New Year
Today is the first day of 2016 and we all are excited to embark on a new plan. As we seek direction we must understand that we walk in the finished work of our Lord.
The word for today is to understand and conclude in our heart that the work of God is “Finished” and we only need to trust him by His word to activate it in our lives.
The bible tells us that without faith it is impossible to please God. So therefore we must conclude that what His word says is True and capable of accomplishing its mission for us.
The scripture that I was prompted to use for this New Year is one most of us have probably heard many times. Jeremiah 29:11 For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.
By listening to the scripture and leaning on the Spirit for discernment God continues to reveal certain aspects of scripture to me that is often hidden within the passage. The part that was revealed to me is the very first. “FOR I KNOW THE PLANS”.
The revelation I received is that God’s plan is finished, so therefore HE knows the plans. BUT, this also implies that somehow we need to agree with the plan that “HE KNOWS” and stop pursuing OUR plan. For God to say that HE knows also implies that we more than likely “DON’T KNOW’ and it requires faith to pursue the unknown with God.
To follow God into “OUR” destiny for 2016 we need to change our thoughts and plans by faith and line up with a destiny that God has already finished at the cross. The plan “HE ALREADY KNOWS” based on His word.
How do we do that?
The spirit revealed to me 2 ways that we can make this happen by His word.
- 1.SEEK GOD: Matthew 6:33 But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you. This scripture posses a simple question: How many of us Seek God first in life? Do you seek Him above other things to know your plan that He knows for you?
- 2.HAVE FAITH: Hebrews 11:1-3 Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen. 3. By faith we understand that the worlds were framed by the word of God, so that the things which are seen were not made of things which are visible.
To have faith means that we have concluded to ‘TRUST” God at His word and stay the course without disruption from the worldly plan that tries to pull us off course!
In summary: Stay the Course! God knows the plan He has for you. Seek Him first to find your destiny. Have FAITH in the plan and don’t waiver from its course until you find the perfect will of God in your life.
Tomorrow God will reveal another part of His finished work for us. Have a great 2016!!

Romans 8:38-39
