ALL MY NEEDS

Daily Diary - April 18th 2016

All My Needs

We all have wants and needs and there is a difference between the two.  God is good all the time and He will meet our “need” based on His riches in glory by Christ Jesus.

Philippians 4:19 And my God shall supply all your need according to His riches in glory by Christ Jesus.

First, we must analyze the difference between our wants and needs.  Each day we should ask the question; “what do I need?”  I believe our flesh keeps us tied into what we want. Most of the time, what we want does not work out for us and then we blame God.

God tells us, He will supply our need.  We must read scripture in its entirety to grasp the fullness that God intended.  This “Need” is according to His riches in Glory.  Our desire is not a part of this equation.

It goes on to say that they are “supplied” BY Christ Jesus.  We receive what we need based on the fact that Christ Jesus went to the cross to give us the “right” and the ability to have our needs met by God.  Without Christ Jesus as savior our needs could not be met.

Question:  What do you want today?

Psalm 23:1-3 The Lord is my shepherd;
I shall not want.
He makes me to lie down in green pastures;
He leads me beside the still waters.
He restores my soul;
He leads me in the paths of righteousness
For His name’s sake.

If the Lord is truly our shepherd we shall not want.  This is difficult when we live in a world that displays so many fleshly desires in front of us.  We live in the “advertisement” capitol of the world and we are the direct targets of manipulation.

It implies in Psalm 23 that if we “Not Want”, then He restores my soul (verse 3).  Wow, our soul needs to be restored to the goodness of God and the scripture implies that our part is to “not want”.

We can "Want" good things, but if they are not a part of God's plan or perfect will in our lives, do we really "need" them?

We must trust that God knows what we need and our part is to be secure in it.  Our “wants” can only lead us to feeling let down when they set us up for failure.  Our wants also guide us away from the things that really matter and place superficial and temporary pleasure in front of Gods riches in Glory!

Father God, We focus on our “needs” today and establish your riches as our goal in life.  We thank you that by Your Son we have obtained the righteousness to receive your Glory in Jesus name, Amen!

Romans 8:38-39

For I am persuaded that neither death nor life, nor angels nor principalities nor powers, nor things present nor things to come,nor height nor depth, nor any other created thing, shall be able to separate us from the love of God which is in Christ Jesus our Lord.
