KEEP YOUR JOY!

Keep Your Joy!

How we handle the changes and challenges of everyday life determines our true heartfelt perspective of our salvation.  If we desire to have the joy and peace of the Lord, we must choose to walk in the spirit of God, which brings us life!

Philippians 2:14-16 Do everything without grumbling or arguing,15 so that you may become blameless and pure, “children of God without fault in a warped and crooked generation.”Then you will shine among them like stars in the sky16 as you hold firmly to the word of life.

The word of God is the word of “Life”.  This is a position of joy and peace.  If our mind is focused on the word of God we will experience the goodness of life in the midst of a crooked and corrupt generation.

Question:  Do you do “Everything” without grumbling or arguing?

Romans 8:6 The mind governed by the flesh is death, but the mind governed by the Spirit is life and peace.

When we face difficult things we can choose to remain thankful for our salvation, and proceed with joy during the task. Or we can grumble and argue, which displays spiritual immaturity to those around us.  My joy is mine to keep, and not to give away to a world seeking to bring me heartache.

Nehemiah 8:10 This day is holy to our Lord. Do not grieve, for the joy of the Lord is your strength.”

My strength comes from the joy of the Lord, not the heartache.  This scripture implies that if we keep our “Joy” we will have strength.  This strength will allow us to face life and overcome trials because we have Christ Jesus as savior.

It’s all about our perspective.  When we become focused on one small item during our day we can lose our Joy.  This happens because we lose sight of the big picture.  We need to step back away from the emotions of the little things and remind ourselves that with God on our side, we have ultimate victory and our salvation is secure!

Romans 8:28-31 And we know that all things work together for good to those who love God, to those who are the called according to His purpose. 29 For whom He foreknew, He also predestined to be conformed to the image of His Son, that He might be the firstborn among many brethren. 30 Moreover whom He predestined, these He also called; whom He called, these He also justified; and whom He justified, these He also glorified.

31 What then shall we say to these things? If God is for us, who can be against us?

Father God, We thank you for the security of salvation.  We choose to keep our joy in the midst of trouble and focus on Your goodness and love for us in Jesus name! Amen.

Romans 8:38-39

For I am persuaded that neither death nor life, nor angels nor principalities nor powers, nor things present nor things to come, nor height nor depth, nor any other created thing, shall be able to separate us from the love of God which is in Christ Jesus our Lord.
