ASK THE QUESTION

Ask The Question

To obtain knowledge we must first ask a question.  God revealed to me that we are asking the wrong questions and are looking for answers from the wrong place.

We are being conformed and controlled by society to think a certain way and we are stuck in a selfish mindset that lines up with what we have learned and not what God says.

After a little research, I found that a child at the age of 10 asks an average of 144 questions a day.  Wow!  This spoke to me that we are born to “Seek” answers.  Our problem is that we are getting our answers from the “World”.  When none of these answers work out for us we give up on the answer.  Therefore we become close-minded and stop asking questions.

We need to get back to asking questions.  We simply need to ask them the right way and from God because He is the one who created us.  Our selfish nature is contrary to His word and plan for our lives.

The revelation I received from the Lord is that we are not seeking God based on His Word and nature, but rather from our own selfish makeup.  This refers to the identity that we have learned from the world around us.  We are using our “conformed” mindset and trying to apply it to the word of God.  God cannot change to fit our plan.

Malachi 3:6 “For I am the LordI do not change; Therefore you are not consumed, O sons of Jacob.

How many times do we ask God for the job, the car, and the self-gratifying things when we have never sought God?

He is the one that created us and has a perfect plan, but it requires us to seek Him as our “Lord”.  He is a good father and requires a relationship with us.

Parable:  God showed me a parable to bring understanding of our misconception of His Word.  Imagine that you are a batter in a baseball game and you hit a ground ball and run straight to 3rd base instead of 1st and the defense keeps throwing you out at 1st.  You would never make it on base or have success in running the wrong direction.  Eventually you would give up on this game.  This is like life.  God gave us His rules through His Word and we are trying to make Him conform to our game rules instead of following God’s plan that is in the bible.

I believe this is what happens to people.  We continue to run to 3rd when we should be running to first and eventually we give up on God, by asking the question; “Why doesn’t God help me?” or saying “God doesn’t love me”.  None of these things are true.  We simply are asking God to change to fit into our plan.  When God doesn’t answer “Our Way” we give up.

If we don’t know the rules to the game of life that are in the bible how can we expect to ever win in life.  God led me to the next 2 scriptures to explain our confusion.

Matthew 6:33 But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you.

God clearly says that we should be seeking His kingdom first and then all these things will be added to us.  All the other areas of life that we have needs in will be met by God.  So our plan should simply be to seek His kingdom.  Instead we seek everything else first and then ask God why He isn’t answering our prayer.

It is clear that God has a plan for each of us and He wants the best for us but how many people know what that really is?  People think they know what they need but in reality God is our source to find our true identity.  Everything else comes next.

Just a chapter later in Matthew 7:7-8 we see the following;

Matthew 7:7-8 “Ask, and it will be given to you; seek, and you will find; knock, and it will be opened to you. For everyone who asks receive, and he who seeks finds, and to him who knocks it will be opened.

God showed me that this scripture follows Matthew 6:33 for a reason.  We are meant to seek God first and then when we “Ask, Seek And Knock we are submitted to the answers that God has for us.  He will not withhold any good thing from His children if it is from “HIS” nature and good for us.  So therefore when we “Ask” it will be given to us because our needs come from the will of God and we are obtaining an answer that was designed for us.

Summary:  We need to change our thinking and humble ourselves to follow God’s plan.  He is a good father and doesn’t change.  We must make a conclusion to follow His Word and life will fall into place for us.

Father, we thank you for your word.  Give us the wisdom to read it from a humble heart and to seek you first in all things in Jesus name! Amen.

Romans 8:38-39

For I am persuaded that neither death nor life, nor angels nor principalities nor powers, nor things present nor things to come, nor height nor depth, nor any other created thing, shall be able to separate us from the love of God which is in Christ Jesus our Lord.
