WHAT'S YOUR OPINION?
What’s Your Opinion?
As I thumb through Facebook I see that everyone has his or her own opinion about everything. This opinion usually is based on a persons past experiences. The posts are from an intermingled mix of fleshly pride, off-based judgment and even partial spiritual truth. For the most part, these posts have no real foundation but rather personal opinions based on the following scripture.
1 John 2:15-17 Do not love the world or the things in the world. If anyone loves the world, the love of the Father is not in him. 16 For all that is in the world—the lust of the flesh, the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life—is not of the Father but is of the world.17 And the world is passing away, and the lust of it; but he who does the will of God abides forever.
Without a “foundation” for us to glean from we are lost. I believe the biggest problem with society is that social media has allowed people to believe their opinion is important. We have billions of foundations based on personal opinions. These foundations lack structure that comes from the ONE true foundation of God.
As long as we are scattered about following our flesh and peoples opinions we will remain confused and seeking after the wrong things. These opinions stir up envy in peoples hearts.
James 3:16 For where envy and self-seeking exist, confusion and every evil thing are there.
EVERY evil thing is there. This is a scary thought because I view most posts on the Internet as coming from a root of envy. Just because you have an opinion doesn’t give it any validity for truth. Only God’s foundation has eternal truth. If a post doesn’t come from a foundation of God’s word it is not good for me.
Until we trust God and operate under the humility of following Jesus Christ as savior we are deceived into believing our own opinions. We simply can’t trust our flesh or others.
Father God help us to understand that your foundation is the only plan that works. Humble your people to see their fleshly faults that will expose our weakness and our need for salvation in Jesus name! Amen

Romans 8:38-39
