Bring Sin to the Light!

Bring Sin to the Light!

We overcome by the blood of the lamb and the word of our testimony.

Do you believe God is pleased to bless you because you defeated Satan or because Christ did?

When you acknowledge that you can’t overcome the attack of the enemy by yourself and you expose the darkness, calling it what it is, Christ will get the glory.

Our flesh is weak, dirty, and incapable of making all the right choices. If we were capable of always making right choices, God would not have sent His Son to die. If it was possible to make the right decisions without Christ’s involvement and we didn’t need His help, then Christ died in vain.  Adam and Eve started the course of action when they were tempted by Satan in the garden and failed to obey God’s word.

Romans 3:21-26 But now the righteousness of God apart from the law is revealed, being witnessed by the Law and the Prophets,22 even the righteousness of God, through faith in Jesus Christ, to all and on allwho believe. For there is no difference;23 for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God,24 being justified freely by His grace through the redemption that is in Christ Jesus,25 whom God set forthasa propitiation by His blood, through faith, to demonstrate His righteousness, because in His forbearance God had passed over the sins that were previously committed,26 to demonstrate at the present time His righteousness, that He might be just and the justifier of the one who has faith in Jesus.

We have all sinned and fallen short of the glory of God.

We overcome by our testimony. When we say, “I can’t do it on my own,” that puts us in right standing with God and allowing HIM to be our justifier. It is a choice we make first. Then we are saying, “Lord, fight this battle” – the one He has already won! Then it becomes about God, not us. We have to get completely out of God’s way.

God sent His son as the “justifier”, and people are either unaware of the Gospel or are prideful trying to be their own justifier.  So many times people keep trying to justify their behavior and even fix their problems through being “Righteous” themselves.  When they fail continuously they then turn to the father.  This is why so many people come to the Lord during trials and or tragedy.  It brings them to the end of themselves and to a place of surrender.

When we walk in the “Righteousness” of Jesus on a daily basis, whether in good or bad we are maintaining a position of God being our justifier.  This position brings peace to our lives.

The enemy comes to steal, kill, and destroy. Satan is out to steal our testimony. If your weaknesses are kept in the dark and exposed by man or you are caught in sin, then the enemy has stolen your testimony. If you bring the sin to the light, then it becomes a testimony that can set you free.

Ephesians 5:8-16 For you were once darkness, but now you are light in the Lord. Walk as children of light (For the fruit of the Spirit is in all goodness, righteousness, and truth), Finding out what is acceptable to the Lord. And have no fellowship with the unfruitful works of darkness, but rather expose them. For it is shameful even to speak of those things which are done by them in secret. But all things that are exposed are made manifest by the light, for whatever makes manifest is light. Therefore He says: “Awake, you who sleep, arise from the dead, and Christ will give you light.” See then that you walk circumspectly, not as fools but as wise, Redeeming the time, because the days are evil.

When sin is brought to the light, it is overcome and buried under Jesus’ shed blood and then becomes a testimony.

If we are seeking the Lord, hearing and obeying Him, then everything we do in life will become a testimony. He will keep “saving the day for us,” so to speak, and we will keep giving Him the glory while exposing the enemy and his works. Even in the small things, we see God’s hand. That’s a powerful place to be.

We tend to take pride in saying, “I follow the Lord.” The challenge is that the “I” remains part of the battle. This is why I love the saying, “I am in Christ Jesus!” In Him there is no fault. You can stand and face the enemy on His ground and win every time with God. We get none of the credit. We don’t deserve it and we should not want it. He received the Glory at the cross, not us.

God is not asking us to defeat alcoholism, drugs, depression, pornography, or other sins on our own. He is asking us to deny their right to operate in our lives and give them to Him to fight in our behalf.  This is the “Relationship” that we have with Jesus!

Father, In Jesus name we ask that you be our justifier.  Expose ourselves by your word so we can be in relationship with you by bringing our sin to the light of Your Glory! Amen!

Romans 8:38-39

For I am persuaded that neither death nor life, nor angels nor principalities nor powers, nor things present nor things to come, nor height nor depth, nor any other created thing, shall be able to separate us from the love of God which is in Christ Jesus our Lord.
