ARE YOU LUCKY OR BLESSED?

Daily Diary January 14th, 2019

Are You Lucky or Blessed?

After accepting Jesus as savior and facing the world’s trials I have determined that “luck” is a word that doesn’t go with salvation.  Once saved we obtain a relationship with a father and the truth of the Word of God is driving us towards God’s goodness and doesn’t require luck but rather faith.

If we are lucky than we are relying on the consequences of the world.  We are seeking things and expecting our outcome to be by “chance”.  I believe this is what the enemy’s plan is for us.  If he can make us rely on chance as our hope then we are not relying on hope of God.  This also implies that we do not have a future and destiny that is in conjunction with God’s divine plan.

Psalm 40:4 Blessed is the one who trusts in the Lord, who does not look to the proud, to those who turn aside to false gods.

To summarize luck we can conclude that we lack faith.  So I have learned to not use the word luck because if is simply meaning that your outcome is by chance.

Psalm 84:12 Lord Almighty, blessed is the one who trusts in you.

Psalm 144:15 Blessed is the people of whom this is true; blessed is the people whose God is the Lord.

This explains why people say they are blessed.  They recognize that to be saved and walking with God is a blessing.  They are not being arrogant but simply exercising their faith in God by accepting His outcome and plan for their circumstances and life.

Luke 6:22 Blessed are you when people hate you, when they exclude you and insult you and reject your name as evil, because of the Son of Man.

If we require luck in our circumstances we are not walking in faith.

Isaiah 61:9 Their descendants will be known among the nations and their offspring among the peoples. All who see them will acknowledge that they are a people the Lord has blessed.”

My life is not merely by chance or luck.  God has a great destiny for us and we need to trust Him in all things.  Jesus Christ did not come and pay the ultimate price for us to be kicked around through life by chance.  He brought us the amazing gift of Salvation so we can live life to the fullest, being blessed by our Father in Heaven.

Father God, give us the revelation of your blessing.  We rely on you as Lord and of our lives and our future.  We have the hope of your goodness in all our circumstances today in Jesus name! Amen

John 20:29 Then Jesus told him, “Because you have seen me, you have believed; blessed are those who have not seen and yet have believed.”

Romans 8:38-39

For I am persuaded that neither death nor life, nor angels nor principalities nor powers, nor things present nor things to come, nor height nor depth, nor any other created thing, shall be able to separate us from the love of God which is in Christ Jesus our Lord.
