BUILDING ON ROCK!

Daily Diary January 15th, 2019

Building On The Rock!

Our daily experiences in the world are forming our life foundation.  What we allow in our heart will determine the substance of its strength in times of trouble.

Luke 6:46-49 “So why do you keep calling me ‘Lord, Lord!’ when you don’t do what I say? 47 I will show you what it’s like when someone comes to me, listens to my teaching, and then follows it. 48 It is like a person building a house who digs deep and lays the foundation on solid rock. When the floodwaters rise and break against that house, it stands firm because it is well built. 49 But anyone who hears and doesn’t obey is like a person who builds a house right on the ground, without a foundation. When the floods sweep down against that house, it will collapse into a heap of ruins.”

Jesus asked the question “why do you call me Lord when you don’t do what I say?”  How many times do we “do” what the world has for us rather than follow the Word of God?  This is the trap of the enemy.  Our foundation can be built on worldly things and ready for its own destruction during the flood or we can dig deep into the Word of God to make sure our hearts are on the Rock of Jesus.

Have you every called upon the name of the Lord and knew you were not doing what His word said in life?

1 Samuel 2:2 No one is holy like the Lord! There is no one besides you; there is no Rock like our God.

We need to make conclusions about what we build our foundation on.  The world has many schemes and plans to disrupt our thinking and our heart will become hardened, bitter and easily shaken in times of trouble.

What we put in our heart will come out under pressure.  Our foundation will not be shaken when the truth of God’s word has become the rock of our heart.

Proverbs 4:23 Guard your heart above all else, for it determines the course of your life.

Luke 6:45 A good person produces good things from the treasury of a good heart, and an evil person produces evil things from the treasury of an evil heart. What you say flows from what is in your heart.

The word for today is to protect our heart. We will have many life experiences come our way.  We will have a choice to either let them into our heart or expose them as disruptive to our foundation.  Do not be shaken by the plan of the enemy, but rather fix your eyes upon God and He will protect you.

Father God, protect our heart against the schemes of the enemy and give us the wisdom to know the difference between good and evil.  By Your Word we will be on “Solid” ground in Jesus name!

Psalm 62:6 He alone is my rock and my salvation, my fortress where I will not be shaken.

Romans 8:38-39

For I am persuaded that neither death nor life, nor angels nor principalities nor powers, nor things present nor things to come, nor height nor depth, nor any other created thing, shall be able to separate us from the love of God which is in Christ Jesus our Lord.
