REJOICE!

Daily Diary January 16th, 2019

REJOICE!

When we become committed to following Christ we desire to follow the Word, which is our guide into all truth.  The “Will” of God for our lives can, and will, become our highest priority.  God’s plan for us is “Good”.  In fact it’s the only eternal plan of hope, love and peace that works for us.  God created us and obviously knows what’s best.

1 Thessalonians 5:16-18 Rejoice always, 17 pray without ceasing, 18 in everything give thanks; for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus for you.

Webster’s Dictionary - Rejoice

rejoice |riˈjois|

verb [ intrans. ]

feel or show great joy or delight

As I read this scripture there are many things that stand out.  First of all we are to “Rejoice” always.  Always is “Always”.  To be able to rejoice always, we must have a true reason.  As Christians we do!  We have obtained eternal life through our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, and “nothing” should be able to nullify this JOY!

Romans 5:10-12 For if when we were enemies we were reconciled to God through the death of His Son, much more, having been reconciled, we shall be saved by His life. 11 And not only that, but we also rejoice in God through our Lord Jesus Christ, through whom we have now received the reconciliation.

Question:  Do you rejoice always?

It goes back to the perspective that we discussed yesterday.  If we are focused on the things of the world, we find it difficult or impossible to rejoice.  When we are focused on God and our spiritual eternity, we find joy and peace in our heart and this leads to rejoicing.

Luke 10:19-20 19 Behold, I give you the authority to trample on serpents and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy, and nothing shall by any means hurt you.20 Nevertheless do not rejoice in this, that the spirits are subject to you, but rather rejoice because your names are written in heaven.”

Father God, We rejoice today because our names are written in Heaven.  We keep our focus on you, and may the joy of our salvation remain in our hearts. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.

Revelation 19:7 "Let us be glad and rejoice and give Him glory, for the marriage of the Lamb has come, and His wife has made herself ready.”

Romans 8:38-39

For I am persuaded that neither death nor life, nor angels nor principalities nor powers, nor things present nor things to come, nor height nor depth, nor any other created thing, shall be able to separate us from the love of God which is in Christ Jesus our Lord.
