Some Assembly Required

(Revelation)

One day I received a box in the mail that contained a weight lifting machine I had ordered for my boys.  It was called the “Body Pro 360” The box had a big sticker on it that said, “Some Assembly Required”.  I gained a great revelation from this scenario.

First of all it required me to read the manual to assemble this machine that had many functions.  Some of these functions include: bench press, pull downs, leg lifts and butterflies just to name a few.  The box was full of nuts and bolts and there was a detailed owners manual.  This required a lot of “assembling”.

For this machine to fully operate at the level it was designed it would take time and learning.   It would take effort to put it together in the proper manner so that all facets were complete and workable.

As I assembled this machine, one item at a time began to operate, which allowed for another part to work.  Without the first part working properly the rest was useless.

Parable:  This story told me a lot about our Christian walk.  When we are born again we become a new creation.

2 Corinthians 5:17 Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new.

When we become a new creation in Christ we are just like this new machine that came in the box.  We have “Some Assembly Required”.  The manual for this new machine is the Bible.  As we begin to construct ourselves into the fullness of God we add new functionality by His word.  Just like the machine had multiple working parts.  When put together properly we can become effective in all our spiritual areas to reach our full potential in God.

I gained a vision of how we look before we are “new” in God.  I saw a box of parts that were just thrown together.  None of which had any real purpose, but rather each part lying against or on top of each other. They were badly messed up.  These parts were made to do specific things that the “creator” had designed them for.  The WRONG manual or in this case the “world’s” manual simply scattered the parts making them useless.

This vision reminded me of looking in that one tool drawer that we all probably have.  Ours is located in the kitchen and has every screw, nail, wrench and bolt just thrown in there.  It is the drawer that we recognize in our house as the “mess”.

Questions of the Day:  Is your life a complete mess at times?  How many of us have some things in order and are content with only a part of our full potential being reached?

God knew us before we were born and He made us to develop throughout our lives to transform into His image.

2 Corinthians 3:18 But we all, with unveiled face, beholding as in a mirror the glory of the Lord, are being transformed into the same image from glory to glory, just as by the Spirit of the Lord.

As we begin to change God shows us His glory in our lives if we are seeking Him. This glory is revealing to us how we should work and allowing us to consciously transform into a fully workable machine that is revealing Gods’ glory to the world.  Wow!

Romans 12:12 And do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, that you may prove what is that good and acceptable and perfect will of God.

God’s plan from the beginning was to assemble us into the destiny that He created for us.  That plan is available to us in His Word!  This is where we find the acceptable and perfect will of God.

Lord, reveal to us the areas of our life that are still not assembled properly.  I pray we have the faith to seek you, which will allow us to complete the process of development laid out for us so we can become complete in Jesus Name!  Amen!

Romans 8:38-39

For I am persuaded that neither death nor life, nor angels nor principalities nor powers, nor things present nor things to come, nor height nor depth, nor any other created thing, shall be able to separate us from the love of God which is in Christ Jesus our Lord.
