PROCESS OF SPIRITUAL GROWTH - REDEMPTION
The Process of Spiritual Growth
“Redemption”
While analyzing my walk with the Lord, I determined that there was a clear path or process that takes place so we can grow towards completeness in the Lord. This process can take place at any time and on all the following levels.
When we gain a new revelation of God, we can use the newfound truth to help us begin what I call the “THE PROCESS OF SPIRITUAL GROWTH.” This process includes redemption, restoration, manifestation, testimony, illumination, and demonstration. All are examples, which display the goodness and victory of God to people around us.
Today we start with “Redemption”. Being redeemed by the blood of Jesus is the first step.
Webster’s Dictionary – Redemption
redemption |riˈdemp sh ən|
noun
1 the action of saving or being saved from sin, error, or evil : God's plans for the redemption of his world.
2 the action of regaining or gaining possession of something in exchange for payment, or clearing a debt.
• archaic the action of buying one's freedom.
The redemption of God for us comes through our humility and acknowledgment of failure so that God becomes our source. He redeems us and reestablishes us with a new life that points to His righteousness and goodness as our identity. This redemption replaces our old identity with the identity of Christ.
We must surrender the idea that we deserve anything except what God has for us. This surrender means that Jesus is Lord of our lives. When we surrender in this manner, we are in “right standing” with God, and He can move on our behalf. We will become at peace with what God has for us and operate in the fruit of the Spirit found in Galatians
5:22-25 But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, self-control. Against such there is no law. And those who are Christ’s have crucified the flesh with its passions and desires. If we live in the Spirit, let us also walk in the Spirit.
The process of redemption is ongoing and never ending. Jesus completed it once and for all, and it is our choice by faith to walk out His redemption for us. He is God, and He has more benefits and provisions than we can possibly receive.
Luke 1:68“Blessed is the Lord God of Israel, For He has visited and redeemed His people,
1 Peter 1:18-19 knowing that you were not redeemed with corruptible things, like silver or gold, from your aimless conduct received by tradition from your fathers, 19 but with the precious blood of Christ, as of a lamb without blemish and without spot.
Revelation 5:9-10 And they sang a new song, saying:
“You are worthy to take the scroll,
And to open its seals;
For You were slain,
And have redeemed us to God by Your blood
Out of every tribe and tongue and people and nation,
10 And have made us[a]kings[b]and priests to our God;
And we[c]shall reign on the earth.”
To be redeemed in Christ is to become a part of him through the shed blood at the cross, which comes through our reconciliation to God. Christ became the replacement and bought us back by paying the price for our sin. He is the redeemer for all who accept him as savior.
Father, we thank you for redeeming us when we didn’t have the power to ourselves. You became our source and salvation in Jesus name!
Romans 8:38-39
For I am persuaded that neither death nor life, nor angels nor principalities nor powers, nor things present nor things to come,nor height nor depth, nor any other created thing, shall be able to separate us from the love of God which is in Christ Jesus our Lord.
