IT'S YOUR MOVE!

Daily Diary - January 25th 2016

It’s Your Move

My brother and I used to play the game of Chess.  I was the one that always wanted to be the white pieces.  My reason was simple: I got to move first.  This is how we have to look at life.

Possibly the biggest revelation I received by digging into God’s word is that it is my move.

John 19:30 So when Jesus had received the sour wine, He said, “It is finished!” And bowing His head, He gave up His spirit.

At the cross Jesus finished God’s work and made our redemption complete.  Our sins were forgiven and we had acquired salvation by our faith through grace.  It was up to us to simply believe in the completion of God’s work.

Question of the Day:  Are you waiting on God?  Do you believe God has left His plan and work unfinished??

Malachi 3:6 “For I am the Lord, I do not change; Therefore you are not consumed, O sons of Jacob.

Based on God’s word we must believe that God does not change.  We, on the other hand, are in the constant transformation to become all that God made us to be.

Romans 12:2 And do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, that you may prove what is that good and acceptable and perfect will of God.

As Christians we must conclude that God’s work is complete and perfect.  His word reveals Himself to us by the Holy Spirit of God.  We are in a relationship to grow to become complete in Him.  Since His nature cannot change He is not affected by circumstances as we are.  In fact there are no circumstances that God would alter His nature for.  Therefore we need to conclude that it is “Our Move”.

If we are in the process of growing in the Lord we will be taking steps in that direction.  Our circumstances in life will place before us opportunities that we will be faced to choose a direction.  Some will line up with the spirit of God and His word and some will not.  This is why the bible tells us we perish by lack of knowledge.

Hosea 4:6 My people are destroyed for lack of knowledge.

Our lack of knowledge of the word will keep us in a state of not knowing God’s nature so we can only assume what God expects from us.  We will go through life partially believing that our decisions are good and acceptable until the Word of God reveals otherwise.  We are living on an assumption, rather than truth.

Revelation:  I had determined that God’s nature is far different than the fleshly nature that I had established in my life.  I had become a fool looking for God to change or to move when I was simply being destroyed from a lack of knowledge.  This is a contradiction of our “will” and God’s plan and they are contrary to one another.

Galatians 5:16-17I say then: Walk in the Spirit, and you shall not fulfill the lust of the flesh. 17 For the flesh lusts against the Spirit, and the Spirit against the flesh; and these are contrary to one another, so that you do not do the things that you wish.

To walk in the spirit we must renew our mind and start to transform taking steps toward God’s nature.  If we are walking in our flesh even “part time” we are asking God to “MOVE” or bless such things.  He does not change.  It is our false contradiction because we are walking out our salvation and are expected to change when God is not.

Summary: Jesus made the final move at the cross and it was “Check Mate” for the enemy.  It was finished.  It’s our move to fulfill our destiny in God.  His life manual is the Bible and we simply need to seek God and follow the plan He gave us.

Prayer:  Father I thank you for your finished work. I acknowledge that is my move, You are God and you do not change. I ask that You continue to reveal Your nature to me by Your Word so I can walk in Your Spirit all the days of my life in Jesus Name. Amen

Romans 8:38-39

For I am persuaded that neither death nor life, nor angels nor principalities nor powers, nor things present nor things to come, nor height nor depth, nor any other created thing, shall be able to separate us from the love of God which is in Christ Jesus our Lord.
