ARE YOU LISTENING?

Daily Diary January 29th, 2019

Are You Listening?

As we grow in the knowledge of God with a spirit of humility we begin to listen to the truth found in the Bible.  The bible will become our source and the situations (parables) of every day life will begin to line up with His truth.  It becomes a practical application of the power of God into our circumstances.

Matthew 13:10-13 His disciples came and asked him, “Why do you use parables when you talk to the people?”

11 He replied,“You are permitted to understand the secrets of the Kingdom of Heaven, but others are not.12 To those who listen to my teaching, more understanding will be given, and they will have an abundance of knowledge. But for those who are not listening, even what little understanding they have will be taken away from them.13 That is why I use these parables,

For they look, but they don’t really see.
They hear, but they don’t really listen or understand.

There was a time in my life that I heard the Word of God but wasn’t really listening.  I was looking for something from God but did not see it.

The bible tells us if we seek God we will find Him and we will be able to listen.  I continue to use the word “conclusion”, because those that “Listen” have concluded that He is God and that He is capable of doing all things.  I believe the ones that do not believe are incapable of hearing.  They hear, but their lack of faith limits their ability to truly listen.

It’s about trusting God as your source and believing that He is capable of all things.  It’s simply Faith!

The “Parables” of every day life are all around us.  When the word is inside of us, and we walk in faith, we will see the plan of God in our situations.  His truth will guide us throughout our life and we will grow in more and more knowledge, because His plan is good for us all the time.

Matthew 13:33-35 Jesus also used this illustration: “The Kingdom of Heaven is like the yeast a woman used in making bread. Even though she put only a little yeast in three measures of flour, it permeated every part of the dough.”

34 Jesus always used stories and illustrations like these when speaking to the crowds. In fact, he never spoke to them without using such parables. 35 This fulfilled what God had spoken through the prophet:

“I will speak to you in parables.
I will explain things hidden since the creation of the world.

Father, we thank you for your word and the wisdom to listen to your voice.  Let us see our situations through parables that will relate to your word in Jesus name! Amen

Romans 8:38-39

For I am persuaded that neither death nor life, nor angels nor principalities nor powers, nor things present nor things to come, nor height nor depth, nor any other created thing, shall be able to separate us from the love of God which is in Christ Jesus our Lord.
