WICKED WORLD
The Wicked World
Last week we talked about trusting God and about submitting to His will for our lives. A good friend of mine asked me an important question. “When we know the truth of God how do we stay true to God’s will when the world we live in is so wicked?”
James 4:3-5 You ask and do not receive, because you ask amiss, that you may spend it on your pleasures.4 Adulterers and adulteresses! Do you not know that friendship with the world is enmity with God? Whoever therefore wants to be a friend of the world makes himself an enemy of God.5 Or do you think that the Scripture says in vain, “The Spirit who dwells in us yearns jealously”?
Question: Are you a friend of God or the World?
Romans 12:2 And do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, that you may prove what is that good and acceptable and perfect will of God.
Proverbs 3:5-7 Trust in the Lord with all your heart, And lean not on your own understanding;6 In all your ways acknowledge Him, And He shall directyour paths.
7 Do not be wise in your own eyes; Fear the Lord and depart from evil.
We have a choice to acknowledge God instead of our own understanding. When we consistently renew our mind and acknowledge Him, He will direct our path. When God directs our path he steers us clear of the evil one. This doesn’t mean that we will not face temptation from the world, but when we consciously choose God first our path will be made straight and we shall be protected!
Father God we thank you for your protection. We seek you and acknowledge you first in our lives. You are our source for eternal life and you keep us from harm in Jesus Name! Amen
1 John 5:18-2018 We know that whoever is born of God does not sin; but he who has been born of God keeps himself, and the wicked one does not touch him.
19 We know that we are of God, and the whole world lies under the sway of the wicked one.
20 And we know that the Son of God has come and has given us an understanding, that we may know Him who is true; and we are in Him who is true, in His Son Jesus Christ. This is the true God and eternal life.

Romans 8:38-39
