EXPOSE THE DARKNESS
Walk the Walk
This morning I was thinking about the upcoming day with hope of a great future. This is a hope of looking forward to God’s plan in our lives.
We have a choice to dwell on the past or to walk in the newness of life that Jesus brought to us through His resurrection.
Romans 6:1-4 What shall we say then? Shall we continue in sin that grace may abound?Certainly not! How shall we who died to sin live any longer in it? 3 Or do you not know that as many of us as were baptized into Christ Jesus were baptized into His death? 4 Therefore we were buried with Him through baptism into death, that just as Christ was raised from the dead by the glory of the Father, even so we also should walk in newness of life.
Our walk should be based on the newness of life. This scripture says that we “should” walk in the newness of life. Therefore it is a choice that only we can make.
Question: Do you dwell on the past mistakes (sin) of yesterday or do you walk in the newness of life?
Our focus determines our walk. If we walk out our day focused on our mistakes we fool ourselves into repeating the same ones. Our unworthy past will cause an unworthy future. When we do this we are operating out of our old self before Christ brought us a new.
Each day we will be faced to “Choose” who we will serve.
One of my favorite passages of scripture is found in the book of Ephesians.
Ephesians 5:8-15 For you were once darkness, but nowyou arelight in the Lord. Walk as children of light9 (for the fruit of the Spirit isin all goodness, righteousness, and truth),10 finding out what is acceptable to the Lord.11 And have no fellowship with the unfruitful works of darkness, but rather exposethem.12 For it is shameful even to speak of those things which are done by them in secret.13 But all things that are exposed are made manifest by the light, for whatever makes manifest is light.14 Therefore He says:
“Awake, you who sleep,
Arise from the dead,
And Christ will give you light.”
Father, We arise from the dead today and walk in the newness of life. We give you praise for your son and the hope of eternal life in Jesus name! Amen
Romans 8:38-39
For I am persuaded that neither death nor life, nor angels nor principalities nor powers, nor things present nor things to come, nor height nor depth, nor any other created thing, shall be able to separate us from the love of God which is in Christ Jesus our Lord.
