ONE DAY AT A TIME!

Daily Diary March 22nd, 2020

One Day at a Time

With the reality of this Virus quarantine all around us, I began to look into previous blogs again this morning from my past that are relevant for today.  This blog reminds us of the value of a single day and how important each moment is.  This blog was from 2016.

This morning Carrie and I woke up to another Saturday of chasing our children to ball games and events. I began to reflect on life and how fast the time goes.  We are growing older and watching life pass by.  Seems like yesterday that our first son Luke was born and he is now 17 and narrowing towards his senior year.  This reminds me how quickly it all takes place.

I began to focus on “this” day and what it had for me.  I opened the Word of God and looked up what a single day had in store for me.

Psalms 84:10-11 Better is one day in your courts than a thousand elsewhere;
I would rather be a doorkeeper in the house of my God than dwell in the tents of the wicked.

Each day we have an opportunity to make choices.  We have today to seek the goodness of God in the midst of businesses.  I have learned to spend time, pray and operate in the joy and peace of the Lord.  This slows down the moments for me and allows us to enjoy what God has today.

Deuteronomy 30:15-16 “See, I have set before you today life and good, death and evil, 16 in that I command you today to love the Lord your God, to walk in His ways, and to keep His commandments, His statutes, and His judgments, that you may live and multiply; and the Lord your God will bless you in the land which you go to possess.

As I researched the word today in the bible I found 129 references.  Most of which talk about living for the day we have been given.  We can do so much in one day.

Luke 23:46 And Jesus said to him, “Assuredly, I say to you, today you will be with Me in Paradise.”

In one day a person has the ability to choose to live in Paradise with the Lord.  That is a pretty big achievement.  How many people will we cross paths with today that are also facing choices in life?  How many are rushing to get to the next day?  Will they take the time to choose the way they will live one day at a time?

Hebrews 13:8 Jesus Christ is the same yesterday, today, and forever.

Joshua 24:15 And if it seems evil to you to serve the Lord, choose for yourselves this day whoyou will serve, whether the gods which your fathers served that were on the other side of the River, or the gods of the Amorites, in whose land you dwell. But as for me and my house, we will serve the Lord.”

Lord, bring us a revelation of how much can happen in a day.  Give us the joy and peace one day at a time to seek your presence and make a difference one day at a time in Jesus name. Amen!

Romans 8:38-39

For I am persuaded that neither death nor life, nor angels nor principalities nor powers, nor things present nor things to come,nor height nor depth, nor any other created thing, shall be able to separate us from the love of God which is in Christ Jesus our Lord.
