WHERE'S YOUR COMPASS POINTING?
Walk in the Light
The temptations of the world are all around us and we will face the trials of life. How we handle these temptations determines our future.
1 John 1:5-10 This is the message which we have heard from Him and declare to you, that God is light and in Him is no darkness at all. 6 If we say that we have fellowship with Him, and walk in darkness, we lie and do not practice the truth. 7 But if we walk in the light as He is in the light, we have fellowship with one another, and the blood of Jesus Christ His Son cleanses us from all sin.
8 If we say that we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us. 9 If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness. 10 If we say that we have not sinned, we make Him a liar, and His word is not in us.
To walk in the light is a “Choice”. That choice is in front of us each day.
Verse 8 confirms that we are all sinners and in need of a savior. We must walk in a position of repentance and confession of our sin. So many times I witness Christians pointing out the sin in other lives as if they are exempt. I believe this comes from people that are pointed towards darkness because they do not have fellowship with one another based on the scripture. The only way we are made righteous is through the blood of Jesus. Everyone is guilty and made free by Him. This position brings unity in people and acceptance of truth.
Our compass must be pointed towards the one who has no sin, which is Jesus. When this takes place we have fellowship with one another and are accepted by God through His son. If our compass is pointed towards darkness we lie and do not practice the truth.
Question: Which way is your compass pointing today?
When we are seeking God and have a relationship with Him we will be walking in truth that comes from the light of God. This truth brings us joy and peace as we are in righteous standing because we practice righteousness.
1 John 2:29 If you know that He is righteous, you know that everyone who practices righteousness is born of Him.
God is light and we have an opportunity to walk in that light today. When we do we practice the truth and do not deceive ourselves. We must conclude that we are all sinners and need a savior who is perfect. Jesus Christ is our source of restoration to the father.
Father, expose to us the areas in our life that we get pointed in the wrong direction. Today we choose focus on walking in the light of your truth and righteousness in Jesus name! Amen
Romans 8:38-39
For I am persuaded that neither death nor life, nor angels nor principalities nor powers, nor things present nor things to come, nor height nor depth, nor any other created thing, shall be able to separate us from the love of God which is in Christ Jesus our Lord.
