THE LURKING LION

Daily Diary September 17th, 2018

Parable of the Lion

(A Dream from the Holy Spirit)

One of the most vivid dream revelations I have received was about the lion that is seeking to devour us.

1 Peter 5:8 Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil walks about like a roaring lion, seeking whom he may devour.

In this dream, I was faced with a difficult situation. There was a lion outside of the house I was in and his goal was to destroy me. I realized the door was opened and I began to walk across an open field to another place of shelter.  I was exposed and the lion was lurking and waiting for his chance to attack. As long as I was inside this house I was protected and nothing outside had access to me so I was comfortable and at peace.

Jesus tells us that the thief wants to kill, steal and destroy us and that we need Him to experience life abundantly.

John 10:10 The thief does not come except to stealand to killand to destroy. I have come that they may have life, and that they may have it more abundantly.

Question of the Day:  What areas are you vulnerable to the attack of the enemy?

I was aware of the lion and understood that I had a destiny in Christ, I had to decide not to follow the temptation outside or I would put myself in jeopardy of this attack “spiritually.”

It’s about seeking God with our daily decisions and not getting caught up in the schemes and traps that are in the world.  Being in the house represented being in Christ and having His finished work as my peace.

The lion was after me because I was born again and represented a threat to him. How big a threat we become is dependent on God’s plan for us, and our “obedience” to follow Him.

Sometimes we have to separate ourselves from relationships with people who are lost. We definitely have to if our very lives are put in danger. There are people who don’t believe any harm would come by being lured outside into sin.  Our lives may depend on our decision to follow God or follow other relationships making us vulnerable to the enemy attacks.

John 3:3 Jesus answered and said to him, “Most assuredly, I say to you, unless one is born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God.”

Satan wants to destroy us. If we are not born again of the Lord, there is no reason for him to attack because our nature is that of “Sin”. Basically, we are already on his team and doing his work, even if we don’t know it.   We basically destroy ourselves by our flesh nature and the enemy has won.

The enemy is very crafty and has many traps set to trip up those who are not growing in God. If we do what it says in the Word and we seek God, we will begin to grow in our faith and spiritual tools. I believe it is easy to reach this level, but it takes obedience and sacrifice. I don’t know exactly when a person knows that he is prepared for his battle, but he will become prepared if he reaches a certain place of spiritual maturity based on faith in Jesus as savior. At this point, he or she will become a difference maker and face the enemy on the battlefield with Jesus.  God wants us to rely on Him and be prepared to stand against the darts of the enemy.

God revealed to me in this dream that most Christians are not ready to face the enemy on his ground. When we are ready, God wants us to put ourselves out there for Him. “Out there” means outside the door on the lion’s turf.

In the flesh, we don’t stand a chance against this enemy.  As Christians we must understand that Jesus is our source to overcome the attack.  Only by the blood of the lamb can we stand and defeat the enemy.  In fact the battle is already won.  We simply need to tap into God’s plan to obtain victory.

Romans 8:31  “If God before us, who can be against us?”

Once we have faced this battle and have seen God bring us victory, we realize that the enemy’s bark is louder than his bite. He has no power against Christ Jesus. We obtain a confidence in the Lord that is complete. When we become complete, we are excited to face the next battle because the battle does not cause us to fear. In fact, we see the victory that Jesus wins when it is complete. We will win and the Lord gets the glory.

This is the first step in going from glory to glory. You see, if we let fear or the enemy, keep us from growing enough to face the enemy, we will miss our perfect destiny. Thank God that Jesus chose to face the enemy that day. He met him face-to-face and crushed him at the cross so I can have this testimony to the Lord.

Jesus remained silent during the ridicule and persecution He faced going to the cross, knowing that God would fight His battle. We are worthy by His sacrifice and we are capable of facing the enemy on his ground. All we have to do is have the courage to put ourselves out there and let the Lord do the rest. It becomes His battle, not ours.

Knowing that death has no sting makes us powerful for the Lord. It reminds me in the Word when the demon said, “Jesus I know, and Paul I know, but who are you?” (Acts 19:15 NKJV).

The table has been turned. I know who I am in Christ Jesus, and the enemy will now have to decide if he wants to meet my Lord on our turf!

Romans 8:38-39

For I am persuaded that neither death nor life, nor angels nor principalities nor powers, nor things present nor things to come, nor height nor depth, nor any other created thing, shall be able to separate us from the love of God which is in Christ Jesus our Lord.
