FREEDOM AND FORGIVENESS

Daily Diary September 24th, 2018

Freedom and Forgiveness

Being in ministry I have learned that people are bound up in un-forgiveness.  It is the reason for so much pain and misery in our world.

Matthew 6:15 But if you do not forgive men their trespasses, neither will your Father forgive your trespasses.

God created us and also forgave our sins at the cross by sending His son.  When we walk with un-forgiveness it causes a spiritual bondage in us towards the father that has forgave us.  Our pain is spiritual and clouds our position with God causing us to lose our inner peace.

Luke 6:37 “Judge not, and you shall not be judged. Condemn not, and you shall not be condemned. Forgive, and you will be forgiven.

When we do not forgive we are basically passing judgment on others.  This judgment is contrary to our free gift of forgiveness of sin that Jesus paid our price for.  It is the very judgment that we deserved.  When we walk in un-forgiveness we are saying that we have a right to judge our neighbor.  Judgment and un-forgiveness are one in the same.

Matthew 5:43-45  “You have heard that it was said, ‘You shall love your neighbor[a]and hate your enemy.’44 But I say to you, love your enemies, bless those who curse you, do good to those who hate you, and pray for those who spitefully use you and persecute you,[b]45 that you may be sons of your Father in heaven; for He makes His sun rise on the evil and on the good, and sends rain on the just and on the unjust.

Question:  Who do you need to forgive today?

It takes maturity in the word of God to walk in forgiveness.  I have personally learned that when I forgive others openly and choose to love people that it brings me peace and joy.  It is about being humble and lowering our pride so we can follow the commandment of God to forgive.

I believe that when we have seen the effects of forgiveness we will begin to rush to forgive because we are in need of the freedom that comes to us.

Colossians 3:13 bearing with one another, and forgiving one another, if anyone has a complaint against another; even as Christ forgave you, so you also must do

It is a must that we forgive!

Father, expose to us the areas that we need to forgive others.  Give us the wisdom to realize that your plan of forgiveness is good and we must learn to follow your word in Jesus name! Amen.

Romans 8:38-39

For I am persuaded that neither death nor life, nor angels nor principalities nor powers, nor things present nor things to come, nor height nor depth, nor any other created thing, shall be able to separate us from the love of God which is in Christ Jesus our Lord.
