HOW DO YOU PRAY?

Daily Diary - January 26th 2016

How Do You Pray!

Prayer is an amazing part of our relationship with God.  When we pray we connect with God in a personal manner and He is listening!

Remember God wants us to share in a relationship with Him and wants us to talk to Him about our situations.  This requires us to grow just like any relationship so therefore a deeper understanding of God will make our relationship better.

In the early days of my prayer life I felt disconnected and somewhat unworthy to pray. It was a feeling of being alone or distant from God.  I also noticed that a lot of others would sound the same way that I was and I could feel them being uncertain of what to pray. For me I didn’t know enough about God to understand His plans for me, or His true nature.

IT'S YOUR MOVE!

Daily Diary - January 25th 2016

It’s Your Move

My brother and I used to play the game of Chess.  I was the one that always wanted to be the white pieces.  My reason was simple: I got to move first.  This is how we have to look at life.

Possibly the biggest revelation I received by digging into God’s word is that it is my move.

John 19:30 So when Jesus had received the sour wine, He said, “It is finished!” And bowing His head, He gave up His spirit.

At the cross Jesus finished God’s work and made our redemption complete.  Our sins were forgiven and we had acquired salvation by our faith through grace.  It was up to us to simply believe in the completion of God’s work.

PROCESS OF SPIRITUAL GROWTH - MANIFESTATION

Daily Diary - January 23rd 2016

Process of Spiritual Growth

Manifestation

When we seek God and His identity through redemption and restoration, He will begin to manifest Himself in all areas of our lives. Manifestation is defined as display, demonstration, show, exhibition, and presentation.

Webster’s Dictionary defines manifestation:

manifestation |ˌmanəfəˈstā sh ən; -ˌfesˈtā sh ən|

noun

an event, action, or object that clearly shows or embodies something,

1 Corinthians 12:7 But the manifestation of the Spirit is given to each one for the profitof all:for to one is given the word of wisdom through the Spirit, to another the word of knowledge through the same Spirit,to another faith by the same Spirit, to another gifts of healings by the sameSpirit,10 to another the working of miracles, to another prophecy, to another discerning of spirits, to anotherdifferentkinds of tongues, to another the interpretation of tongues.11 But one and the same Spirit works all these things, distributing to each one individually as He wills.

PROCESS OF SPIRITUAL GROWTH - RESTORATION

Daily Diary - January 22 2016

Process of Spiritual Growth

Restoration

Yesterday we talked about redemption leading us to the “Restoration” of God.  Once we have established humility and identity in Christ, He will also restore us to our natural form that God created us.  It is a place of honor and respect by His word.  It is not a place we deserve but a place in Him through His Grace!

Webster’s Dictionary

restoration |ˌrestəˈrā sh ən|

noun

the action of returning something to a former owner, place, or condition.

Based on the definition of restoration we have an “original owner” and “condition” that we need to be restored to.  This is what Jesus did at the cross!  He restored us to the father as a new creature that is able to walk out our complete restoration to our original form by following His word.

PROCESS OF SPIRITUAL GROWTH - REDEMPTION

Daily Diary - January 21st 2016

The Process of Spiritual Growth

“Redemption”

While analyzing my walk with the Lord, I determined that there was a clear path or process that takes place so we can grow towards completeness in the Lord. This process can take place at any time and on all the following levels.

When we gain a new revelation of God, we can use the newfound truth to help us begin what I call the “THE PROCESS OF SPIRITUAL GROWTH.” This process includes redemption, restoration, manifestation, testimony, illumination, and demonstration. All are examples, which display the goodness and victory of God to people around us.

Today we start with “Redemption”.  Being redeemed by the blood of Jesus is the first step.

IT'S TIME TO GET OUT OF THE BOAT

Daily Diary - January 20th 2016

It’s Time to Get Out of the Boat

There are times in life when we are given a choice to have faith in God or to simply stay in the boat.

Matthew 14:28-29 28 And Peter answered Him and said, “Lord, if it is You, command me to come to You on the water.”

29 So He said, “Come.” And when Peter had come down out of the boat, he walked on the water to go to Jesus.

When we walk with faith toward Jesus we can do all things.  Jesus simply said “Come”.  This scripture basically is telling us to go toward Jesus and nothing is impossible.  It is a supernatural surrender and trust in God.  It’s is a challenge of our faith!

Some Assembly Required

Daily Diary - January 19th 2016

Some Assembly Required

(Revelation)

One day I received a box in the mail that contained a weight lifting machine I had ordered for my boys.  It was called the “Body Pro 360” The box had a big sticker on it that said, “Some Assembly Required”.  I gained a great revelation from this scenario.

First of all it required me to read the manual to assemble this machine that had many functions.  Some of these functions include: bench press, pull downs, leg lifts and butterflies just to name a few.  The box was full of nuts and bolts and there was a detailed owners manual.  A lot of “assembling” was required.

For this machine to fully operate at the level it was designed it would take time and learning for me to put it together in the proper manner so that all facets were workable.

HUMBLE YOURSELF

Daily Diary - January 18th 2016

Humble Yourself

We have all heard the saying be humble.  It is hard for us to understand the value in humility, but it is an important part of our foundation and walk with God.

The reason we must be humble is because it is and admission of God being in control.  It is aligning ourselves with God as our Lord and creator.  Basically if God can create us, and promise that He has a plan for us, then therefore He has the ability to fulfill our perfect destiny.

THE COACHING BOX

Daily Diary - January 16th 2016

The Coaching Box

(Revelation)

As a baseball coach I have fought many battles in the 3rd base-coaching box.  When you are unable to play yourself you live and die with every pitch.  Over the years of coaching things began to change.  Following the Lord and imparting the things of God to my team started to transform my thinking.  I began to see the player’s personal needs at a higher level than the outcome of their performance.

Over a seven-year period we returned several three-year players.  Our relationships were strong and I understood their needs away from the field and the battles they faced at home.  Some of these players were qualified and loved by how good they were at a sport.  This began to work on my Spirit.  Players that were good kids had their identity wrapped up in their performance.  It was the only identity that they really had.  That identity was placed upon them from home.

PUT YOUR OFFENSE ON THE FIELD

Daily Diary - January 15th 2016

Put Your Offense on the Field

(Dream Revelation)

One night I awoke from a dream and realized it was very meaningful.  In this dream I was on the field playing quarterback.  My team was running plays and the success was absolutely zero.  We were unable to gain a yard.  In fact we were losing yards on every down.

We were locked down against our own goal line and I had called a time out.  I looked to the sideline and realized that our playbook was completely non-effective.  In fact it became clear to me that the other team already knew the plays we were running before we called them.  It was a completely helpless situation and it was obvious we needed a completely new plan to have any kind of success against this defense.

Bring Sin to the Light!

Daily Diary - January 14th, 2016

Bring Sin to the Light!

We overcome by the blood of the lamb and the word of our testimony.

Do you believe God is pleased to bless you because you defeated Satan or because Christ did?

When you acknowledge that you can’t overcome the attack of the enemy by yourself and you expose the darkness, calling it what it is, Christ will get the glory.

Sharpen Your Skills

Daily Diary - January 13th 2016

Being Skilled for the Battle

After reading the Daily Diary about the “Tip of the Sword”. A good friend of sent me a follow up Question:  “To win games or be a master swordsman, you need to be skilled.  What does it mean to be a skilled Christian?  What are the skills of a Christian?”

First of all we have no ability to fight the enemy and also no skills without God.  He is the complete source for our strength as Christians!  We fight the good fight of FAITH!

Hebrews 11:6 But without faith it is impossible to please Him, for he who comes to God must believe that He is, and that He is a rewarder of those who diligently seek Him.

Spiritual Battle

Daily Diary - January 12th 2016

Cast Our Fear!

Daily Scripture: 2 Timothy 1:7 For God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power and of love and of a sound mind.

We read this scripture and often quote it to people who are experiencing fear in their lives.  Rather it is a tragedy or another form of trial, fear has many faces.

As we focus on this very powerful scripture, I am lead to break it down and talk about the scripture as a whole.

THE UNDO BUTTON

Daily Diary - January 11th 2016

The Undo Button

(Revelation)

One morning I was asked to preach at our local church. I had spent many days working on the message for this particular Sunday. When I awoke that morning, the Spirit of God gave me a revelation and an analogy that would support my message.

I made my way to the computer and began typing out this revelation. When finished, I went to wake up my children, Luke, Parker, and Grace. During this time, my cat had made her way to the computer.

THE TIP OF THE SWORD

WEEKEND SPECIAL

Tip of the Sword

(The Power of God's Word)

Being a coach and understanding what it means to battle to win games, I learned a great revelation. We are in spiritual warfare. The war is taking place in the heavens, not in the flesh. God is building up a team to fight His battles for Him. The maturity level of Christians varies.

Ephesians 6:12 For we do not fight against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this age, against spiritual hosts of wickedness in the heavenly places.

<<  23 24 25 26 27 [2829  >>

Romans 8:38-39

For I am persuaded that neither death nor life, nor angels nor principalities nor powers, nor things present nor things to come, nor height nor depth, nor any other created thing, shall be able to separate us from the love of God which is in Christ Jesus our Lord.
